2015 Tournament Information (All Stars)

In the chart below are date windows for 2015 Tournament.  Please make certain before trying out for All Stars that your child will be available.

New in 2015: The players selected to an All Star team will end their League season no later than June 27th. After the 27th players will only participate with their All Star team. If their team does not advance through the district level each team will be scheduling games with other All-star teams not advancing within our district and playing teams from Sault Canada. We are also seeking options for tournaments. The entry fees for tournaments will NOT be paid by SALL and will be decided by individual teams and their coaches.

A partner organization to SALL is currently forming with the acronym SYBA (Sault Youth Baseball Association) This organization will collect and dispense information for additional game and tournament opportunities to aid coaches in scheduling through the remainder of the summer. To play for SYBA each player must have registered and played minimum game requirement with SALL. Contact information will be made available to all (all-star) coaches at the completion of their Little League Tournament.

Players not selected to the All Star team will be redrafted within their division and will play league until the end of July. SALL will schedule games with teams from Sault Canada, and play each other to complete the season.

Lake Superior State University to Host Little League Softball® Day

Sault Sainte Marie, MI (August 4, 2014) – Little League® Baseball and Softball, along with the Lake Superior State University will team up on September 20th, 2014 to welcome Little League Softball® players to its “Little League Softball Day.”

The Little League Softball Day will be held at Locey Field, on W. 12th Ave. in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, home of Lake Superior State University softball.  The Lakers will host a doubleheader against Alpena Community College at 1pm and 3pm. Little Leaguers, their parents and local league volunteers are encouraged to attend the game(s). The players will come dressed in their Little League uniform jerseys, and following the games will be permitted on to the field to meet the collegiate players and coaches. “Little League Softball Days are a way to recognize Little League Softball, and gain an appreciation of the college softball experience,” said Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little League Baseball and Softball. “For 75 years, Little League has played an active role in connecting communities. Little League Softball Days will afford young athletes of all ages the chance to enjoy the game of softball at its finest. They will have the complete game experience from the warm-ups to game’s end.”

Colleges and universities throughout the United States, including UCLA; the University of Arizona; the University of Tennessee; DePaul University and the University of Michigan, have hosted similar events in recent years.

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary, Little League Softball has over 360,000 players worldwide and is played in nearly all U.S. states. Each summer, Little League International operates four World Series tournaments for softball, in which world champions in the divisions of Little League (ages 11-12), Junior League (12-14), Senior League (13-16) and Big League Softball (14-18) are crowned. Each of the championship games in those tournaments are televised on ESPN family of networks.         For more information on the Little League Softball Day, contact Kevin Misiak, Volunteer Assistant, at: (906) 203-9825; or via email, at: kjmisiak@gmail.com.

Founded in 1939, Little League Baseball and Softball is the world’s largest organized youth sports program, with nearly 2.4 million players and one million adult volunteers in every U.S. state and more than 80 countries.

Fun Day will take place on Friday, July 25th at 6:00 pm. We will meet at the concession stand. Hot dogs will be provided by Sault Area Little League. Baseball and Softball divisions are responsible for the following -

T-ball (Softball, Baseball T-Ball1 and T-Ball 2): Plates, cups and napkins
Rookies (Softball and Baseball): Beverages (i.e., water, juice, etc)
Minors (Softball and Baseball): Sides (i.e.,
fruit, veggies, chips)
Majors, Intermediates and Seniors (Softball and Baseball): Desserts

After we eat (around 6:30), kids will be separated into their divisions and they can enjoy the activities that are available. We will have slip n slides, water balloons, the radar gun
, and hopefully other things for the kids to do. Trying to have something on each field.

Since there will be water there, remember to bring appropriate clothes and towels if your child plans on participating.
